Textile And Clothing

In the past few months, the workers of the clothing manufacturers in Indonesia have worked hard to produce copies of the jerseys for the football World Cup teams. These workers are furious with their owners in order to raise their wages.

A major global sportswear brand has outsourced the production of jerseys to these units. These workers can only get $121.5 per month for 8-9 sales a day and 6 days a week.

These workers demand to double their wages because the cost of living has risen in recent months. They mentioned that workers in the clothing and clothing sector in Bangladesh and Kampuchea were also angry at the low wages paid.

The clothing department in Indonesia rebutted the demands of workers. They said they had complied with the minimum wage stipulated by the government, so they did not do anything wrong.
