2010 Rising International Textile Costs

Since the beginning of this year, our country

Textile and garment enterprises

It has always been characterized by "labor shortage".

Rising cost

And other problems.

Data show that, due to the rapid growth of China's economy, manufacturing wages have nearly doubled two times over 10 years ago, and the average annual salary of workers is about 3900 dollars.

In the eyes of some American manufacturers, the so-called "

China price

"(the cost of saving 30%~50%) has ceased to exist.

At the same time, China's wage surge has also contributed to neighboring countries.

It is hard to say how long the global manufacturing center's "low salary" advantage will last. Textile manufacturers in Europe and the United States have rarely seen the phenomenon of "returning to the nest".

Salaries rise in Bangladesh and Cambodia

It is not just our country that labor costs have been rising year after year.

With the economic development of Southeast Asian countries, the demands of workers in the region to improve work and living standards have been increasing.

Take Bangladesh and Kampuchea for example, the minimum wage standard for textile industry has been raised this year.

The world's lowest wage Bangladesh announced at the end of July this year that the minimum monthly salary for garment workers from 1662 Taka (about $24) was substantially increased by 80% to 3000 Taka (about $43).

In recent years, the famous clothing brands in Europe and the United States have settled factories in Bangladesh, where wages are relatively low. The influx of foreign investment has promoted the textile industry to become an important economic pillar of the country.

However, 3 million Bangladesh textile workers' living standards did not improve with the development of the industry, but showed a downward trend.

Earlier, Kampuchea also announced that it would raise the minimum wage of garment and footwear workers, and incorporate living subsidies into wages.

The minimum wage was $50 a month plus an allowance of $6 (i.e. a total of $56), adjusted to $61 (including $6 in living allowance).

The rooster returns to France

Influenced by the "wage surge", some European and American clothing manufacturers who originally built production bases in Asia and other countries decided to withdraw.

After 22 years of leaving the country, the French cock brand revisited the brand R & D center and production in France and Senna Rome, in order to provide employment opportunities for local people.

Under the dual role of economic globalization and increasingly fierce competition in the local market, French industry has been "de industrialization" in recent years.

A number of French enterprises have moved to Eastern Europe and Asia and other regions, resulting in a sharp rise in the unemployment rate in France, of which the automobile industry and the textile industry have the largest reduction.

In order to revive the French industry, in April this year, the French Ministry of industry proposed the strategy of "made in France" and allocated funds to encourage French enterprises to produce finished products in France.

Some French enterprises began to move back, and the famous French sports leisure brand "lecoqsportif" and the famous snow brand "Nightingale" (Rossignol), after leaving France for many years, announced that they would return to their hometown for production and research and development.
