According to the briefing, the association was founded in 2011 and now has more than 100 members. It has played an important role in serving Chaozhou footwear enterprises and standardizing the development of footwear industry.

Xu pointed out that at present, SMEs in China's manufacturing industry are generally facing difficulties in increasing costs, reducing export demand and making small profits. Chaozhou footwear enterprises are in a critical period of pformation and upgrading.

The footwear industry association should adhere to problem oriented, in-depth research, find out the situation, sort out, analyze and judge the problems encountered by the member enterprises in the development process, timely communicate with the government effectively, convey the demands and voices of member enterprises, and boost the development of enterprises; relevant functional departments should increase guidance and support, nurture, develop and expand trade associations, and promote the coordinated development of Chaozhou's economy and society.
